Adblue oil market demands in South Africa

What is Adblue?

One of the latest techniques used to clean up diesel emissions is known as selective catalytic reduction (SCR). A solution of urea in water is used to treat exhaust gases and remove harmful pollutants, including nitrogen oxides (NOx), of which nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is the most harmful.

AdBlue, also known as diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), is a blend or an aqueous solution of 32.5% urea and 67.5% of deionized water. It is primarily used as a consumable fluid in diesel and gasoline fuel-based vehicles. The product effectively reduces the emission of oxides of nitrogen by chemically reacting with the exhaust gases.

South Africa AdBlue Oil Market Research Report and Forecast 2024

The fluid used in most vehicles is known as AdBlue, a registered trademark owned by the German Association of the Automobile Industry (VDA), which ensures standards are maintained. The fluid is stored in a tank in the car, but unlike petrol or diesel it is not injected into the engine; instead it is fed into part of the vehicle’s exhaust. A chemical reaction converts the harmful NOx exhaust gases into harmless nitrogen and water.

What cars use AdBlue?

New technology such as SCR and AdBlue is still found mainly in large, expensive diesel models. That is because the system is both too large and too expensive to squeeze into small runabouts.

In tests, small diesel cars without SCR, such as the 2016 Volkswagen Polo 1.4 TDI, have been found to be as toxic as a fully laden lorry. In measurements taken by Leeds University’s Institute of Transport Studies, the Polo emitted 1.2g of NO2 per kilometre travelled, which is the same as a fully laden diesel lorry with a 13-litre engine.

Demand for Adblue in SouthAfrica.

The growing use of emission reduction products such as AdBlue and diesel exhaust fluid in the agricultural machinery and construction equipment is expected to create lucrative opportunities for the manufacturers of AdBlue.

The South Africa AdBlue Oil Market was valued at USD 136.09 million in 2017 and is projected to register a healthy CAGR of 4.83% to attain a value mark of USD 188.00 million by the end of 2023. In terms of volume, the global market is expected to exhibit a CAGR of 4.24% to reach 327.14 kilo tons from 434.56 kilo tons. The major factor driving the growth of the South Africa AdBlue market is increasing adoption of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Africa. Furthermore, changing lifestyles and increasing disposable income of the people in the country has resulted in the increased sale of automobiles, which is consequently expected to boost the demand for AdBlue and diesel exhaust fluid.

However, sluggish economic growth in South Africa on account of the looming macroeconomic factors is likely to hamper the market growth of AdBlue oil and diesel exhaust fluid during the review period 2017-2023.

Segmentation

The South Africa AdBlue market has been segmented on the basis of technology and application. Based on technology, the market is bifurcated into exhaust gas recirculation and selective catalytic reduction. Among these, the selective catalytic reduction segment accounted for around 82% market share in 2017. By application, the market is categorized into automotive, farm machinery, construction machinery, electronic generators, railway engines, and others. The automotive segment accounted for the largest market share with a value of USD 84.7 million in 2017.

Difficult to convince consumers on flight, try In flight Advertising

In the olden days of travel, inflight entertainment options were pretty slim. Most airlines had a central screen that played movies, edited for content, and had audio channels that offered different genres of music. And you could listen to all of this while wearing uncomfortable, tube-like headphones that wouldn’t win any awards for sound quality. If you were bored, you could read magazines, newspapers or your own books.

Fast forward to today, where, depending on the airline, passengers have hundreds of hours of options, including Wi-Fi, movies and television shows, games and music. Some of it is built into an airline’s fleet, and some have options where you can bring your own devices and access in-flight entertainment options.

In-flight advertising incorporates the mode of advertising through the overhead storage bins, setback tray tables, in-flight magazines, and sales pitches by the respective flight attendants. The global in-flight advertising market has witnessed a transformation with the advent of digital media. Individualized computing and individual smartphone empower the advertisers to convey ads to people/travelers with unique publicizing content directly to their own devices, which is relatively significantly as compared to the conventional techniques for the in-flight advertising. The digital in-flight creative advertisements are gradually adding a dimension of interaction to the sound, sight, and motion — and enhanced interaction is expected to drive the brand effectiveness.

Pregnancy and Ovulation – Is It a growing market in Asia-Pacific?

In the last two decades, many women are having their first child after the age of 35 – even age 40. Birth rates in women over the age of 35 are now the fastest growing, and the numbers of mothers aged 40-plus have nearly doubled in the last decade.

While this does somewhat dispel the dire warnings about later life fertility, older parents and parents-to-be are probably more likely to prepare for pregnancy with supplements, purchase ovulation kits to help plan conception, and potentially have more issues with fertility than younger first-time parents.

Pharmacies can support would-be parents of all age groups, but especially older couples, by providing a complete range of pharmacy services that cater for all stages of the journey, from pre-conception to birth and beyond.

What is Pregnancy Testing?

Pregnancy testing is the detection of human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in both urine and serum as early as seven to 10 days after conception, whereas, ovulation testing detects the Luteinizing Hormone (LH) level. The declining fertility rate, the emergence of highly accurate advanced technology, and the easy availability of ovulation and pregnancy monitors are expected to drive market growth. For instance, according to the statistics presented by the World Bank, India had a fertility rate of 3.311 in 2000 whereas in 2016 it declined to 2.326. However, the high costs associated with ovulation tests may hamper the growth of the market.

The demands and growth in Asia-Pacific

The Asia-Pacific pregnancy and ovulation testing market is expected to reach a market value of USD 298.68 million by 2023 from USD 209.37 million in 2017 and is expected to register a CAGR of 6.10% during the forecast period from 2018 to 2023.

In 2017, the market was led by Japan with a 23.2% share, followed by China and India with shares of 22.5% and 19.7%, respectively.

The growing demand for pregnancy testing has been observed in different parts of the world which fuels the growth of the market.

Glucose Tolerance Test Market surpasses validation.

What is a glucose tolerance test?

The glucose tolerance test generally measures the capability of the body cells for engrossing sugar or glucose soon after the patient consumes a certain amount of sugar. Specialists nowadays are making use of the haemoglobin A1C and fasting blood sugar level values for identifying the type 1 or type 2 diabetes. The glucose tolerance test is primarily used for diagnosing the gestational diabetes in the patients.

Diabetes Market
Global Glucose Tolerance Test Market Forecast until 2023

A glucose tolerance test measures how well your body’s cells are able to absorb glucose (sugar) after you consume a specific amount of sugar. Doctors use fasting blood sugar levels and hemoglobin A1c values to diagnose type 1 and type 2 diabetes as well as prediabetes. Doctors primarily use a glucose tolerance test to diagnose diabetes during pregnancy (called gestational diabetes).

Doctors often diagnose type 1 diabetes quickly because it usually develops rapidly and involves high blood sugar levels and symptoms. Type 2 diabetes, on the other hand, often develops over years. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes, and it usually develops during adulthood.

Gestational diabetes occurs when a pregnant woman who hasn’t had diabetes before pregnancy has high blood sugar levels as a result of the pregnancy. The American Diabetes Association estimates that gestational diabetes occurs in up to 9.2 percent of pregnancies in the United States.

Who needs a glucose tolerance test?

Doctors should screen all pregnant women for gestational diabetes. Gestational diabetes can cause pregnancy complications, so early detection and prompt treatment are important.
